The legacy of Manual High School and its Alumni has been established well over a century ago. Established September 7, 1909, Manual High School was opened on the corner of Lincoln and Shelley Streets as Manual Training High School. After 54 years, the Manual Training High School population increased to 1680 students. The school board decided to purchase land and build on the current Manual High School location on 811 South Griswold.
On April 1, 2022, a group of concerned alumni formed the Manual High School Alumni Student Recognition Association (MASRA) to provide resources that promote excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts. The notion that excellent schools build excellent citizens and communities is central to the association’s philosophy.
Your Alumni Association will be supporting our students while they are currently enrolled at Manual High School and its feeder middle and primary schools. MASRA will support the MHS athletes by building a new state of the art weight room. We will also help our teachers and administrators by providing resources to improve our students' math and reading placement scores. Also our fine arts’ numbers will increase for band, orchestra, and visual arts. MASRA will offer summer scholarships for band camps and other visual art camps for Manual High School Students.
Our Association is here to support the legacy of Peoria Manual High School, its Alumni and Current Students. It’s through your generous donations that our mission can continue.
